The Law Office of Julie M. Weiner

Georgia Employment Attorney

Serving The Legal Needs Of Employers And Individuals Since 2000

Because I represent both individuals and businesses, I am able to analyze employment situations from multiple perspectives. This is a unique quality that provides many benefits to my clients. For individuals, it allows me to offer a realistic assessment as to whether or not viable employment claims exist and what they are worth.  From a business perspective, I am able to provide preventive advice, assess the risks of a potential or actual dispute, and guide a company through the challenges and obstacles that frequently arise with employment issues under federal and Georgia laws.  But, no matter which side of a dispute I'm representing, I fight for my clients and do whatever I can to get a satisfactory resolution.

Focusing my practice primarily on employment-related cases has also given me the opportunity to handle a wide variety of issues that can arise in the workplace, including claims involving contract and commissions disputes, contested eligibility for unemployment benefits, wage and hour issues, situations involving FMLA leave, allegations of discrimination and harassment, as well as multiple types of retaliation. While I have litigated many claims in both state and federal courts in Georgia and argued multiple cases before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, most of the cases I have handled have been resolved through informal negotiations and mediation.

I believe that forming relationships with other members of the legal community also benefits clients. I've been an active member of the Georgia Affiliate of the National Employment Lawyers Association ("NELA-GA") since 2002, and served on its the Board of Directors from January 2008 to January 2017, including serving as 2012 President.  I also chaired the NELA-GA annual continuing education program for many years, participated in the organization's mentoring program, led mutiple committees, and have spoken at meetings and seminars on subjects related to employment law and litigation.  Most recently I have been selected as a mentor for the 2017-2018 Mentorship Academy, which is co-sponsored by NELA-GA and the Labor & Employment Section of the State Bar of Georgia. I am also a member of the Lawyers Club of Atlanta.
